Adaptive Behavioral Supports

Children's Residential Support
General responsibilities:
Residential Specialists are responsible to support individuals in their home setting. Support may
include provide emotional and therapeutic support to assist with emotional, behavioral or mental
health challenges. There is a focus on promoting inclusion in individuals communities and assisting
them to build relationships. Other support involves assisting individuals in their home to the
degree they need support or training (i.e. meal preparation & cleanup; laundry) and personal care.
Ability to work and communicate well within a team environment. Ability to work with families.
Documentation as needed.
Physical job demands:
Some locations require ability to transfer/lift; ability to implement behavioural support plans as needed; ability to participate in leisure plan,
assist with domestic household duties required.
Typical requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Education in Human Services preferred. Experience working with individuals with a developmental
disability preferred. Good verbal (receptive and expressive) and written English language skills required.
Wage: Wages based on experience and education.

Responsive Respite Services
General responsiblities:
Respite Specialists are responsible to work with children and youth to provide their families with respite needs.
This involves helping the individuals determine what activities they would like to engage in or pursue. (i.e. leisure interests or education, etc.). Ability to work and communicate
well within a team environment and with the family. Documentation as needed.
Typical requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Two years post secondary education in Human Services required.
Experience working with individuals with a developmental disability and emotional/behavioral challenges. Good verbal (expressive and receptive) and written English language skills required.

domestic household duties required.
Typical requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Education in Human Services preferred.
Experience working with individuals with complex needs preferred. Good verbal (expressive and receptive) and written English language skills required.
Wage:
Starting wage is $14.14 per hour $8.80/hour asleep.
